I'm a female in her early-mid 40's and I've been experiencing really swollen ankles just recently. Yes, I'm overweight and I've been overweight for several years but never had this issue before. Due to the weather I've been wearing ankle boots and socks. The socks have actually dug in and caused a welt and it looks like an elastic band has been wrapped around them by around mid day.
I am on meds for high blood pressure which I've been on for several months which I know can cause swollen ankles. Could it be my blood pressure medication or something else?
It's really getting me down and I feel like an old woman. I have my annual full blood test, HBA1c next week and also an appointment with the DSN in early October.
Should I wait until then to discuss it or should I make an appointment to see my Dr ASAP?
