Symptoms help

Hi, i am not currently diagnosed as a diabetic, but need some help.. I will try and keep my story brief.

About 8 months ago while walking the dog i blacked out during a very warm day don't know how long i was out , but i knew where i was straight away, 1 hour earlier i had just played an hour of 5-a-side football indoors, never ate much before and only drank 2 bottles of energy drinks to keep me going.

I visited my local GP the following monday, i have had ECG, EEG, Treadmill test, Heart monitor, and all have come back normal according to the hospital, i also had a panic attack during the night and went to the ER (i thought it was something else) they did a blood sugar test and further ECG's and said all was normal.

Since then i my symptoms have been lightheaded, dizzy on occasion, seems worse after caffeine (which i have stopped), plus during walking, playing football, i have had some lightheaded moments, these symptoms happen on quite a few days and leave me feeling fatigued and tired.

I am going to see my GP again soon, but thought i would see if these symptoms seem familiar to a diabetic, the blood sugar test they did was hours after my panic attack and i have not been tested again. I have many self-diagnosis ideas such as Anixety, Epilepsy, Diabetes but none seem to fit the symptoms people suggest, flashing lights on tv have a couple of times made me look away and got my heart pounding for some reason but never had a seizure.

I appreciate any help and understand theres no substitute for seeing a GP, but thought i ask anyway, thank you for reading this.

Malc,

What are your bg levels when you feel light-headed and dizzy? Could be hypo/hyperglycemia or many other things for that matter, you do well to see your gp again and discuss.

Hi Nigel,

Not sure on my bg levels never been tested properly, only had that one blood sugar test, doctor seemed to rule that out with that 1 test, but i know levels can be up and down at different times of the day and dependent on your activity.

Is Hypo/Hyperglycemia when the blood sugar is too high?, is diabetes passed down through families as my Gran had this condition.

As you haven't been diagnosed with diabetes Malc there's little point in self-diagnosing as these symptoms could be a number of conditions, why not take it easy and wait for further investigations to be carried out at your next gp appointment.

Your probably right, will await GP'S verdict, was just trying to gather information to ease my mind, i try to relax and not stress but its not that easy, maybe its all psychological and i am just going nuts :(

Thanks for your help, if it turns out to be related i will be back.
