Symptoms of hyperglycaemia but levels in control

Hi, I would really appreciate any advice! I’ve had type1 for just over a year, so I’m still fairly new to this! Recently I have been experiencing symptoms of hyperglycaemia - urinating more frequently and dry mouth - however, I haven’t experienced a long period of high sugars and I’ve been exercising more regularly so I’m wondering if this could be a delayed reaction to having covid around 3 weeks ago or something else? I’ve obviously spoken to my doctor and had blood tests done last week when the symptoms started, and everything has come back normal with no cause for concern & my ketones are 0.1.

I have no idea why I have these symptoms, I’m hoping to speak to a diabetic nurse on Monday but i just wondered if anyone had any ideas? Is this normal to experience?

Hi @Mills98 Welcome to the forum ;)

As long as your GP has checked you over and there's nothing obvious to report then i'd pass it off as one of those things particularly if you're running levels in range too.

Welcome to the forum.

We're not allowed to diagnose, and I'm not medically trained, but weeing more often could possibly be early symptoms of a UTI, or an irritable bladder. Dry mouth could be a side effect of a medication you're on. Worth checking through any side efffects of prescribed and over the counter medication. Are you drinking enough, as if you're losing a lot of fluid through weeing, you might just be a bit dehydrated, which would cause a dry mouth.

Thank you so much for your reply, I’m going to keep an eye on how I feel over the next few days but this is reassuring! Thanks again

Definitely things to keep an eye on too, I guess I’ll monitor my symptoms over the next few days and go from there. Thank you so much for your reply!!
