Today has been one of those days, not a blowout as such but have had a total of 4 slices of granary bread dished up by a well meaning hubby.

I won't go into details but let's say I have had other things on my mind and didn't really stop to think about the grub..I am now though.

Itch? I am scratching for Europe never mind England. I'm not talking about you know where itching (which I know is often a regular feature for us ladies) but hands, arms, tummy..it's driving me nuts!! Now I have had this before and as I have eczema and allergies I thought it might be that.

Nope..it's raised levels, it has to be. Pause to scratch left shoulder...so. There we have it. Sugar makes me itch, hence bread makes me itch. I cut out bread for a while (didn't miss it that much) so it's gone from the menu again. 4 slices..what a wally.

So do any of you get symptoms that you know relate to raised levels? Be interested to hear if I'm alone in this.

I've not had any symptoms apart from feeling a bit sleepy. Itching sounds like a good incentive to persuade yourself not to stray though

Hope it didn't last too long.

Ann

Raised levels tend to give me a headache or foggy head

I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but I think I can tell when my BG is raised.

It makes me feel tense and irritable. I can still remember the fantastic feeling of calmness and lucidity that I got when I first got my BG down below 7mmol/l (just before the false hypo headaches began). I'm guessing that I was probably irritable all of the time before then.

I can certainly tell you what range my BG is in 95% of the time without testing... i.e. between 4 - 5 mmol/l or 5 - 7 mmol/l or 7mmol/l+ and that's all down to how different blood readings make me feel.. At 7 mmol/l + I get a dry mouth and begin to get very irritable, if this goes much past 9mmol/l then I start to get tired and my mouth goes what I can only describe as 'sticky'.

The only time I would have trouble guestimating sugars or may not get these signs is on rapid change of level.. but then I can tell you my sugars are quickly changing..
