Symptoms Worse After Lowering Sugars?

I’m a type 2 diabetic for the past 4 years now, back and fourth between controlled and not controlled. For the past 3 months my sugars have been higher than they ever have, mostly in the 10’s. After getting some bad news last week regarding another health problem I was told by my doctor I would need to strictly control my blood sugars and cholesterol or I would be switched to insulin very soon. I instantly started eating better and walking every day. My sugars are already drastically decreasing to 7’s and 6’s. I haven’t seen those numbers in months. But i’ve noticed that I feel worse and my feet burn the most when my sugars are great. I’m wondering if this is normal? Will it eventually get better? I may or may not have neuropathy, I was not diagnosed. But I still thought lowering my sugars should cause less pain not more?

I Have experienced this so you are not alone .
I there was a fascinating paper that a well know member linked to ,[cant remember whom and where]
but gist was that complications get worse for up 3 years beyond you peak average levels.
so joyous news eh..NOT.
my feet are much improved so hang in there.

As far as I understand, its a bit like when you sit on your leg it goes numb but takes a while to feel uncomfortable but then you switch position and get pins and needles. When the pins and needles wear off your foot feels great but sitting in ththat position again means that you get the same outcome.
Moral, do not sit ontop of your own leg.
