Type of diabetes

Im just curious as to what other peoples symptoms were before they were diagnosed with Type 1..
Mine were such a mixture of things..
  • my hair would fall out in handfuls
  • Id crave a certain food then as soon as it was in front of me id feel physically sick
  • Id be drinking like water was going out of fashion
  • Id wee for england
  • Id cry alot about nothing and such silly things
  • I slept for England!
Did anyone else get these obviously theres the most obvious ones in there but Im wondering what other people experienced and also if you were unwell before being diagnosed or if you just thought there was something wrong. I had a sever ear infection that actually led to me getting Type 1.

Let me know!

Keep Smiling xo

  1. Had a UTI, doctor never tested me for diabetes -_-
  2. Very thirsty
  3. Drinking around seven litres a day at the end
  4. Urinating all the time
  5. Always tired
  6. Ate so much sugar, which is very unusual for me never really had chocolate etc.
  7. Passed out from drinking/would get drunk much easier
  8. Could not understand my work
  9. Lost around 12kg at diagnosis
That's about all I can think of from the the top of my head.

Keep Smiling xo[/QUOTE weight loss couldn't stop myself from drinking anything i seen!!! the urge to pee all the time!!!thrush, waking up during the night feeling dizzy trying to get to the toilet feeling tired most of the time

Just so tired. Had to drag myself up the stairs to my office, and painfully drag myself onto the cross-trainer. Vision plummeted within two months. And my brain wouldn't work. I got so much slower at work. Thinking hurt, and more importantly, just couldn't do it.

Extreme thirst, losing weight, peeing all the time and passing out repeatedly. I was five at the time so I don't actually remember, but I look pretty skeletal in the photos!

As above really with all the classics - extreme thirst - drinking gallons and gallons with no effect, weeing all the time, tired and lost weight even though I've always been skinny and I felt like sh*t. Tried to carry on with my A-Level work but the symptoms had come on rapidly and I was just hoping it was a bug and would go away! Within the week I started throwing up and was in severe dka before being rushed into hospital from the doctors. I can still clearly remember it all 29 years later and I never want to feel like that again.
