Hi I’m not new to diabetes, but new to this forum, and new to being pregnant. I went to the ER for DKA & found out I was 6 weeks. My grandmother rushed to come get me 3 hrs away & take me & my boyfriend home to milledgeville, GA, & it’s been an insane week. She lectures me about everything I eat & it makes me uncomfortable. I also have mental health concerns which have been kinda flaring up, mostLay a lot of anger & resentment. Anyway, this is my introduction, hello!

Hi @jrose444 and welcome to the forums.

I've got to think that lectures about food won't be helping your mental state but I guess it shows she cares? Are you happy to be pregnant and have you got health care for your diabetes during your pregnancy?

I'm not very clued up about health care in the US but have had two T1 pregnancies in the UK, where I got good care from the UK NHS as soon as I told them I was pregnant.

Can I ask how your diabetes is treated? DKA isn't a good thing to experience whether pregnant or not so I'd hope that you know why you went into DKA and can minimise the chances of it in the future?

Once more, welcome

Hello and welcome @jrose444

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

It does sound like your grandmother is anxious. I hope everything settles down so you can prioritise your own health both physical and mental.

Welcome and take care.
