Unfortunately the NHS don't offer implant treatment, it's a cosmetic treatment so only private dentists will offer this and I believe prices start at about £1900 per tooth, you generally have to have well controlled blood glucose levels to have successful treatment. The NHS do offer bridges, what type depends on which dentist you see.

To my knowledge people with diabetes get no special privileges from dentists.

However, high BG can cause teeth problems - just another case of sugar trying to find a way out of our bodies. This time through our saliva which means more sugar in our mouths which means more tooth decay.

More reasons for keeping BG under control.

The cost of implants is horrendous and not avalable on the nhs. About 5 years ago, my dentist semi jokingly told me that if I had a spare £25,000 hed give me a beautiful smile ( with implants ) - we got on well, so I told him that if I had a spare £25,000 Id have a lot better things to smile about!

@martin1111 I would recommend seeing a dentist as soon as possible though - you may well only need crowns which can be done on the NHS however it depends on the extent of the damage, implants are a last resort particularly if the surrounding teeth aren't strong enough to support a bridge.
