I was diagnosed April 20, started metformin (2x500) and low carb in June, have had hypothyroidism for a good few years and was on 175 of levothyroxine .
In October last year I had symptoms of hyperthyroidism and my TSH was 0.1, so I reduced my levo to 125, in the meantime I steadied my blood sugars to non diabetic range and stopped metformin with doctors agreement.
However TSH level of 21/22 for the last two readings and I’m feeling awful and also not losing any weight at all.
Did metformin suppress my TSH levels when I was on it?, should I go back on it to get my weight down and reduce my TSH, with a view to reducing my levo if it decreases too much.
Or am I better staying off metformin and increasing my levo which once I get in range will help my weight loss too
Doctor isn’t a great help to be honest
Has anyone else had this issue?
