Just had an invite to this, which is being hosted by the West Hampshire Community Diabetes Service. Does anybody have experience of similar gatherings? I'd be interested in going if it's genuinely a conference - i.e. an exchange of ideas and developments in T2 management - but not if it's just going to be a series of lectures about obeying NHS diktat and eating carbs with every meal.
The highlight of the event appears to be a "Hypo Simulator" which will "allow family and friends to experience what it's like to have a hypo"
I was also amused to see that you automatically get entered into a prize draw if you attend, for which the prize is..... Ta-Dah! a hamper! I wonder what it will contain? They're usually full of carby snacks, jam and bottles of sweet sherry, in my experience.
If anybody else here has been invited, maybe we could go along mob-handed and, ahem, influence the course of discussions? Just a thought.....
