Gliclazide will take a short time to stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin so a short wait (same for insulin use) provides better timing for the food. You don't have to wait 30 minutes and in my opinion that's too long. You can take Gliclazide split morning and evening. I was on full (320mg) dose for several years and took it before breakfast and at the evening meal.
Hi. My honeymoon period lasted over 5 years so very slow after the initial HBA1C of 13%. I found Gliclazide had no side effects for me whatsoever even at the 320mg dose (160mg x 2). My DN would often ask me about hypos but I used to think a chance would be a nice thing! So I never got near a hypo which proved to me that my beta cells were failing and in the end 320mg had no effect at all on my BS,This might be one of my options in a while.
As you are LADA I assume that you had an extended honeymoon period before your pancreas finally gave up trying.
How did you find the Gliclazide on a day to day basis?
Much hypo risk?
