Hi all. I'm heading off on holidays next week and the hotel I'm staying in does not serve slimline tonic (to go with my gin). I was thinking of taking some in my hold luggage. Has anyone done this before or do you know if they sell it at Gatwick Airport?
Any suggestions!
Thanks
Andrea

Not sure but I'd check with the airline your flying with.

It's OK in your suitcase if in plastic bottle. I've not seen it on sale at Gatwick.

Where are you going on holiday? Surely there will be a supermarket near your hotel that would be simpler than lugging 2 weeks (or any length of tome) supply of tonic?

On an aside, lots of people here drink gin and soda. I haven't tried it myself.

We're going to Cape Verde and I've read that they don't import it only normal tonic water.
Haven't tried soda water but could be a good alternative.

Personally, I'd be inclined to consider an alternative drink. Liquid is heavy to carry, and how much of your luggage allowance would you give up to tonic water?

Diabetic, or not, I'm not sure I fancy schmoozing into a bar and pulling my bottle of tonic from my (copious) handbag to add to my drink. I could imagine being challenged on it, with bar staff concerned you might be bringing in your own alcohol.
