Taller people more at risk?

I'm under 40 but taller than average and read the following-

Diabetic neuropathy is most prevalent in men and women over the age of 40. And this illness tends to hit people that are taller than average. This is probably due to the fact that they have longer nerve fibers which gets damaged more easily. And if you drink, then you must know that even a small quantity of any type of alcohol can make your neuropathy worsen

Is this true? I've not read about taller people being more at risk from some complications compared to short people.

T1 husband has multiple complications and is 6 ft. 3 in.35 years T1
I [7 years T2]. have no sign of neuropathy and am 5 ft. 7 in which is well above average for a female. T1 and I are both 63

I did read some articles on this subject today. It seems that tall people are more at risk if they continually run high blood sugars.

I am 5 foot 7 and don't drink, but my sister inlaw was diagnosed a month before me and she is 5 foot 2 and doesn't drink.
