Alright fellow Team type 1 crew,

FYI people that workout and are dedicated to sports and fitness as diabetics with type one diabetes I have taken to calling Team Type 1, just easier...and faster... Anyway, about 6 months back I was riding the bus when a bloke asked me if I live in the area. I said yes I did and was asked to go to open training for the local rugby team. I'm a big enough man at 32 years old, 19 stone 2lbs or 270lbs. Large, most of the weight fat but I boxed in the army and did weights back in the day so there was some muscle under the extra padding. Anyway, I went down to the training and....LOVED IT!
I pay the team membership fee of fourty pound a year and I get to play rugby and get a free gym membership from the rugby team gym. Since joining I have lost 3 inches off the waist but....I still weight 270lbs or 19.2 stone. Not sure wat that's all about but I know I'm more fit as I can now run 3 miles on the tredmill at a speed of 10.5 without stopping. This does cause my sugar to crash though so Orange juice and water 50/50 mix is always with me during these warm up runs. Then on none rugby training nights it's weights...lots and lots of weights.

This is what my weekly workout look like-
Monday-Plyometric sports cardio circuit

tueday-Rugby training (cardio and body weight work along with getting to hit people. Or gym 3 mile run, weighted squats, deadlifts, tractor tire flipping/dragging, sledge hammer work, heavy bag carry)

wednesday-Yoga

thursday-Rugby training again. (Gym this time is 3 mile run, chest press, butterflies, cable pulldowns, clean and sweeps, pull ups, press ups)

Friday- Home weights workout (Bicept curls, hammer curls, bent over rows, press up count downs 10 to 1 then back up)

Saturday - on seasons - Game day off season- Plyometric cardio circuit

Sunday- rest day.

Topping this off with a 2500 cal/day diet of %80 protein, %15 carbs, %5 healthy fats I'm doing great, sugars are better and I am nowhere near as sore as I used to be. Gonne cut my weights down though starting next week to low weight high reps, gonna try and cut 30lbs so I'll be 240lbs or 17.14 stone. I keep track of my eatign with a great app on my phone called calorie counter by fatsecret.com it's free and has a rundown of alot of food and market/resturaunt brands on it. I really REALLY advise this program for all diabetics. It's free, no hidden or otherwise costs, but check it out, you'll love it.

anyway, doing great, any questions or comments please let me know
