technical help posting problem

Wondered if anyone is good at IT? I am not. For a couple of days, I have not been able to post replies to threads. When I type, only a couple of letters of the sentence I type actually appears. I have to reply to posts by copy and pasting from word. However, today, everything is working just fine. I was able to pm while havingthis problem with no issue...so I am puzzled.

Has anyone any ideaas why this might be happening. Could it be a "connection" problem a virus, user error? I guess all are possible. If anyone has an idea why this happens, I would love to know.

Yes the forum has been slow of late but if your PC is running slow as well it will compound the problem. To keep a PC up to speed it is important to clean its cashes and temp folders as they tend to clog things up, the easiest way to do this is to download a program called Ccleaner from Piriform download link from Filehippo below. It's free :thumbup:

Once downloaded simply install the program and then update it to the latest version, then simply click on 'Run Cleaner' under the 'Cleaner' tab, the first time you use it it will probably take some time as your temp folders will be full of garbage.

You will loose all your remembered log in's after you use Ccleaner although you can use the Cookies function to save the cookies from the sites you regularly visit ie. diabetes.co.uk and to do this you need to click 'Options' (the bottom link on the left hand side) and then 'Cookies' then troll through the list highlighting any addresses you recognise and then clicking the -> symbol to add them to the 'Cookies To Keep' list. It really isnt hard to use and once you have used it once subsequent uses are much faster.

I use it daily or after making on line purchases as it removes stored personal details held in the temp files :thumbup:

I have no connection with Piriform this is just a great free program that everyone should use IMHO
