I knew there was something wrong when I was in my teens. Am now 63. Why has it taken so long to understand that this is the case. If when you are in your teens and are being tested for Diabetes, surely it would help to answer and explain a lot of questions about the emotional behaviour.

I was always told it was my weight and I had to reduce it - the fact that carbs made me feel unwell was all in my mind, I should eat more breakfast cereal and bread, and potatoes rather than sugary things, and take more exercise.

Have you recently been diagnosed? If so, why would you think you already had diabetes in your teens? T2 in teenagers is very rare, whilst developing it at your age is pretty common.
