Help! Not sure what to do. I have a problem with one of my teeth. I think it's either a root canal or abcess, i've made an emergency appt with the dentist but have been told there are 7 people in the queue in front of me and it may be a week before i get seen  I cannot afford a private appt.
My BG levels are also up ( just tested at 14.6) and i'm in a lot of pain dispite taking regular otc pain killers. I was in hosp just before christmas with DKA and am worried about getting it again or HONK with my high bloods. Earliest appt i can get with my Dr is for a weeks time and about same for DN. We do have a walk in centre though, should i go there?

Could try and call your local dental Hospital /

Walk in centre would give you anti bio also pain killers may ref to dental Hospital

Claire....Oww! I agree with Bob, goto the walk in centre, mention DKA concerns etc. I have had similar (painful!!) tooth problems, and the anti biotics do help settle thing down before teh treatment.

I did resort to sobbing in teh waiting room once at the dentist...humiliating, but they did see me!

Have been to the walk in centre. Was very lucky that the nurse i saw used to be head diabetic lead at the surgery she used to work at :D She doesn't think i have an infection as no swelling and no high temp. She gave me a prescription for paracetamol and codeine and told me i can also take ibuprofen. We also had a good chat about my BG levels and she said unfortunatly from the walk in centre she's not allowed to do anything inless my levels were at crisis level. If she could she said she would either give me a glip and refer me for exenatide or start me on a basal insulin. She thinks that my pancreas is too knackerd for the gliclazide to do anything. Have made an appointment to see diabetic nurse on Monday evening.
