teeth whitening

Hi, My family have have offered to pay for teeth whitening as a christmas present, at our local dentist, but i'm not sure if this has any affect if you have diabetes 2. I could speak to the dentist, but I just wondered if any one can give me any info ta Julie
 
Personally, I would not consider such a venture ...a little baking soda added to your toothbrush after placing about a pea sized blob of standard toothpaste, will over time work just as well as a chemical bleaching.
If you mean a cosmetic coating then I can tell you that soon wears off if you are a nut eater.
 
I don't believe chemical whitening to have any detrimental effect on your diabetes. I have had it done and will continue to do so (and yes I had in depth discussions with my dentist beforehand).

The baking soda trick may keep your teeth stain free, however if you do want your teeth to be a whiter shade than they naturally are, then chemical whitening can do the trick nicely. I always think it's a little odd that teeth whitening seems to be such a taboo in the UK.
 
If you squeeze a little lemon juice onto baking soda to make a paste it will remove stains and whiten a little .Not recommended too often but it does give a boost

There's a difference between stain removal (tea/smoking/red wine, etc...) and teeth whitening. My teeth are not the whitest - but they are not stained, 'cos I dont eat/drink anyting that can stain 'em.

I use (Arm & Hammer) baking soda toothpaste every day, and it doesn't make any difference to the shade of my teeth... :cry:

I dunno how you enjoy a good meal without a slurp of excellent gravy to help it on its way, or a square or three of serotonin boosting dark chocolate to lift a gloomy day .. :wink:
 
Did you have it done? I have Nite White from my dentist, it is a very gentle peroxide free gel you leave on overnight. My teeth are lovely and bright. I try to stop before they look too much, but people always comment on them. At least they don`t ask are they bleached.
 
According to me Having fruits like strawberries which removes stains in teeth and doing brush twice day keeping yourself good oral hygienic can be always better than any other options.
 
My teeth are whitened. Hey, a bright smile is very important to attractiveness. I love being able to grin with confidence, and I keep them meticulously clean because I do not want bad breath or gum disease.

Go for it, I say. They could be hinting....
 
I will suggest you not do anything from your side. You have to consult a specialist dentist.
