Temporary switch from Omnipod to pens

Thymios

Newbie
Hello,
I am 2-3 months on Omnipod dash and as the summer approaches, I would like to have my pump some days while other days (e.g. beach days) I would like to switch to pens.(For example, 6 days with a pump and 3 days on insulin pens or 1 day insulin pens and 2 days with the pump). I have read the protocol about the basal insulin etc I just wanted to hear real experiences from someone that switches from pump to pens and vice versa quite often. Is it manageable? Is there a protocol or do you have any tips on how to do it without having constant highs and lows.
Thank you in advance!

I know @steveo4 has done pump breaks before.

I never have done a pump break so can’t really comment although it does seem rather pointless to disconnect from your pump unless it’s for a longer duration of time. You’d have to check your manual but most pumps are waterproof up to a certain depth and have a time limit if that is what you’re worried about.
