Tesco Milk Chocolate Viennese Thins

If you stay within your own carb limit you’ve set then why not? If you can keep to just the one, go for it, I manage just one Jaffa cake at my ILs Sunday tea time

So for me anything with grains is not good because it spikes my BG, doesn’t really matter what the carb count.
What was your BG before and two hours after eating?

Hi

I slept with a blood glucose of 4.4mmol and woke up today with it being 4.8mmol. Had a few peanuts and a square of 80% dark chocolate and tea for breakfast. Then went to the gym for strength training.

I came home and my glucose was 4.8 (before eating). I will check in two hours time and post the result.

I am pre-diabetic.

I was given an A1C of 105 at the hospital after having an AFIB episode.

I've never been a fan of bread or grains if I'm honest. But I do like rice with a curry, I don't know why... Maybe because its quickly fulfilling?

I really like your weight loss, did you do any exercise?

How do I check my carb limit?

Your carb limit needs to be at a level where your blood glucose readings ideally are at a non diabetic level.

Thank you for your kind words about my weight loss. I didn’t include a huge amount of exercise as when I was diagnosed Type 2 I was waiting for operations on both feet. After the first op was done I started walking 20-30 mins a day. I am now recuperating from the other foot op and hope to get back to walking soon.

Do you think weight training is ok on LCHF?

Thank you Rachox for guiding me. I am still getting to know my way around this website.

Do you take any medication for your diabetes. I am really happy to see your A1C. I hope to get an A1C test in July or end of June;

My a1c was 105 in Feb :/

You’re welcome to the guidance
I take just Metformin for my type 2, not just for the blood sugar control but it helps with weight loss and has a few other health benefits. I’m happy to stay on it so long as I don’t get side effects.
Good luck with your next blood test, I have my next one soon too.

I have just checked my blood glucose after 2 hours of eating and it's 4.6mmol.

@Rachox Sorry to derail this thread, but do you mind telling me if you are still losing weight?
I don’t mind at all, my weight loss has ground to a bit of a halt at the moment but that’s because I’ve been on crutches for the last eight weeks following foot surgery. I think it will restart once I get out walking properly again. Before my surgery it was dropping still, albeit very slowly.

Edit, oh did you mean me or Charlie?

sorry i think they meant you
