hi bit a a simple question but how long does it take to get hba1c results?
got appointment with the vampires thurs :twisted: and after my last terrable result (think that made me decide to do something about it) im very interested in weather all my hard work of cutting my carbs is doing the trick :D

It depends entirely where you are and what local procedures are. There is no set time. It might be a matter of days or even weeks.....ask when they take your blood how long it will be.

I am fortunate that my Clinic can give me an instant HbA1c reading because they have the latest equipment. However I still get blood taken and analysed, this usually takes about 3 days for a result.
 
Are you asking how long between being stabbed and getting the magic number? If so, about a week to 2 weeks.

If you are asking, what time period does the blood test cover, ie, if you changed your ways 2 weeks ago, would it have an effect yet...yes, but really you need to have changed them 6 weeks prior to the test to see the true result.
