Hi just wondered whether someone could help?
Had another Hb1ac (might have got name wrong) Apparently it is now 50. Is that good or not? I’m heading in right direction I think.
Thanks.
Stay safe. Xx

Hi @Smiler69

An HbA1c of 50, is just above the threshold for the diagnosis of diabetes in the UK, which is 48mmol/mol. Between 42 and 47 is pre-diabetes, so assuming your number at diagnosis was higher, you are indeed headed in the right direction!

Am attaching a chart you might find helpful.

Thankyou. I think my last one was 75. So I’m happy it’s getting there. I was worried that it was still really really high and had to get down to between 4-7.
Thanks.

Hi Smiler, just for clarification, do you mean between 4 & 7 relating to finger prick tests? You're not mixing up the hb1ac number with those are you? x

Sounds like you are certainly going the right way. Exercise has less effect than your diet. Nothing wrong with upping your exercise but I suggest don't think of it as a reason to up your carbs.

You're doing well so hopefully the next test will put you right into the non-diabteic level. Well done.
