Hey, I'm fairly sure I bought two batches of my test strips some point last year but when looking at both I believe the expiry date was 11/2025. These are Gluco Navii ones, I currently dont have the funds to replace them right now, but was wondering how inaccurate they will be if the date im looking at on the container is the expiry date ? has anyone used them beyond the expiry and not noticed a massive difference ?

Thanks.

Hi there @fendertele , in my experience, they lose their accuracy and continue to do so the further out of date they go.

I personally wouldn’t rely on them, I’ve never had strips long enough for them to go out of date so can’t really comment on the accuracy of them

I'd happily use test strips that were only out of date by such a short time, (at least for the ones I use), as I've found them just as accurate. I can't comment on the Gluco Navii though, as I've never tried them.

Once while overseas I got readings in the low 20's, much higher than I had ever had before - and found the strips were way out of date! I bought some new ones locally and my readings went back to normal 8-10 range. It did scare the heck out of me, though!
