Out of interest, how many test strips do people get through? I can only request 50 at a time and seems like always requesting them!!

My prescription allows me 100 test strips at a time, I feel like I'm ordering them all the time so can only imagine how much of a pain it is for you getting half that amount :-( will your gp not adjust your prescription so you can have more at a time to save hassle

I've only been on my insulin 3 days so I guess my repeat is still just the old one...I am using loads as I'm testing before driving as instructed...before and after meals...50 will not last long lol x

For all the reasons you cite there Jaxx, I think you need to ask for your repeat to be adjusted.

I retired to Spain 10 years ago and up to now had no problems with
getting test strips.....I have now been informed that only patients
on insulin are eligible on prescription.....they are so expensive to
buy over here (€ 44 for 50 )so I now use the Internet suppliers
as they are considerably cheaper.
There is no way that anyone should not be able to self monitor
regardless of Governments opinions.
I wonder how many of the "Politicians" that make these decisions
are Diabetic?
Pensionista Mike.

I have to test 4 times a day and before each time I drive, say 6 a day. That means 360 for a 2 month supply. Try explaining that to your doctors' receptionist.....
