If this reading is significantly higher than before, yes, I would contact the diabetes nurse to see how this can be improved.

In the mean time, there may be ways to improve things yourself. You clearly have a glucose meter. Do you only use it to test fasting numbers or do you also test before and two hours after meals to see what different meals do, and maybe adjust them to be more diabetes friendly?

Blood sugars will always be up in the morning due to the "early morning phenomen" your body getting extra sugar for the days activity including just getting out of bed. It's worth reading up on it.

No insulin just metformi, been taken off Gliclazide due to my weight loss which is going well at the moment. Did my weigh in this morning and lostb 3/4 of a pound down to 14 sr 1 from 15 st 9, on week 12 with Mounjaro and no side effects as yet but it does work it certainly takes the hunger away.

Maybe try using a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) for a couple of weeks just to see what’s going on with your blood sugars. That way you can see what your blood sugars are doing 24/7. They are pricey, but I believe in the UK you can obtain a free trial Free Libre 2+ from Abbott.

I’ve got to agree with the recommendation to try a Continuous Glucose Monitor. It shows that my fasting glucose is higher than other times.
