Testing strips

Although as diabetics we get testing strips for free why on earth are they so expensive to buy in chemists ?
 
Not all diabetics get test strips free on prescription, some type 2's are restricted or refused them altogether. The NHS will buy them at cost from the manufacturers by the sheer volume they buy, Chemists do tend to vary on price and much will depend on their buying power and profit margin.
