I only seem to be able to get blood from my fingertips and they are getting sore. Any suggestions?

When you say your fingertips ....are we talking about the pad ? Or the sides ?

Either I can get it from the pads and the sides. I've tried the arm but I can't raise any blood.I'm elderly and the skin gets rather leatherly.

You should NEVER use the pads, that can be very painful ! Always the sides of the fingers only.
Is your finger pricker set to the right depth ?
You might be a candidate for Alternative Site Testing (AST) but you MUST discuss with your GP or Nurse as the readings from different areas are not as accurate as finger pricking, mainly due to a time lag in the readings. Notr all meters support AST, which is another consideration.
