Hi all. I just wanted to say thank you to so many people who post on this thread. I was very ignorant before reading it, but took in lots of different advice and encouragement. I didn't really understand the consequences of having A1C of 11.3, but then finally it clicked and I spent the last 3 months eating LCHF and it's now at 6.4 as of today's blood test result from the lab. I did buy a monitor and that was really useful to work out what was bad for me personally, although some of those things are really 'good' things and I may try them again, in fact I already did with a banana and was fine. Initially a banana took me higher than anything, but also porridge was a spiker.
Absolutely no surprise - pasta, cake and biscuits are bad, but cake and pasta in particular.
I need to keep learning more, but hope it's a good start. Where I live they wanted me to go into hospital for a week or 2 at 11.3 to get 'sorted out', now they don't so that's good already - I think?!
Am I on the right track? I hope so.
