I appreciate there has been some unrest here in the forum lately
I am not aware of the cause but I have seen some of the fall out.
I just wanted to say thank you to you all who spend time providing
input to this forum both in posting and moderating.
Three months ago I was initially diagnosed with T2 and an Hba1C
of 9.7% It was like being side swiped by a runaway bus; the shock
I felt was insurmountable My life had ended! My doctor advised
me to get online and look at Diabetes UK (I guess he meant the
charity site) but I found you folks.
I learnt from you all that there was light at the end of the tunnel
and it wasn't an oncoming train. I took on board the idea of low
carbing and started to change my diet. Now three months down
the line I have lost 20Kg and my waking BG is now 4.9 - 5.2.
Today I had to visit the Diabetic Nurse and have now been told
my Hba1C is now down to 5.6% (Sadly my total cholesteral has
gone from 5.0 to 5.3%) She told me everything is looking very
good and that is thanks to what I have learnt here. (I am lucky
as she read my food diary which highlighted 10g carbs per day
and she said I was doing everything right)
So thanks folks  you have all created a gem of a resource
here for a newbie to find this support is a godsend.
