Hi all. Thanks for letting me join. I've had Diabetes for around 4 years now and I currently use Humalog and Lantus. Recently I made the switch to using the Freestyle Libre 3 sensor which I've found useful and I cannot comment on its accuracy ..... however I have no reason to question it. Once my fingers have had time to recover I am thinking of testing alongside the sensor to try and gauge accuracy but I'm aware all sorts of factors could affect the results. For anybody who may be thinking of switching I can only say I have not encountered any problems other than the one I'm about to seek some advice for. Specifically keeping the sensor on for the full 14 days without it falling off. Can anybody recommend a tape/patch that has a good reputation for a) keeping the sensor in place and b) has minimal skin irritation. I already use a strap for when I am carrying my backpack and I am also going to start using the strap for showering and drying off after as I am totally oblivious to wearing the sensor once applied and I am inadvertently rubbing over the sensor. The sheer number of manufacturers and providers makes identifying a good make/option difficult. Thank you all for reading this and my thanks to all who give me some feedback. Have a nice day

So many manufacturers to choose from. For me I use Kovog over patches from Amazon. They have a small plastic cup that fits over the sensor. So actually the patch is not on the sensor itself but fully protected. I’ve never had one some off since using these and no skin irritation. Because they stick so well I ended up using a Peeleasy adhesive remover spray

Hi, last week I was asking for advice regarding patches for CGM. Unbeknown to me, at the time of writing my wife had already ordered from Amazon (Germany). The brand is May Love and I can positively say that so far it has done the job with no sign of lifting or coming off in any way.

Hi @JamesLi16 , welcome to the forum.

I've been using Hypafix transparent for at least 5 years without problems. A patch usually stays on for the full 2 weeks, sometimes I need to replace halfway through.

This is what I used when on Libre 2 except I wasn’t able to get transparent (same brand and with the same specs: e.g. fully breathable). I think, but can’t confirm because this is the only brand I used, that as long as it’s fully breathable it’s ok. The documentation from Abbot that I read in various places mentioned fully breathable and applying it at the same time as the sensor, not a week later for example. I never had it come off but sometimes the edges would start to peel so I just cut off a thin strip from the roll to cover up the peeling bit. Covering the peeling bits up was probably not necessary in hindsight but I figured it couldn’t hurt as long as it was only along the edge and not adding yet another layer on top of the sensor

I use 3M Tegaderm patches.

Update to my last post. I'm still using the Maylove patches with no problems whatsoever. Every time I change sensor I make sure I have thoroughly cleaned the application site with Alcohol wipes and let it dry after. So far my wife applies the patch. I think it would be difficult for me to get it right. My wife thinks I would be OK after practising with one or two patches on an area I can directly see.
