Thanks to the forum and especially @urbanracer and the moderator for your help during my nervy turn yesterday. Your replies introduced a much needed element of calm.
As an update, after my (personal) world record of amount of insulin injected yesterday, today things have settled a bit and are merely at national record level. I think the cause was inflammatory from the arthritis flare up and unrelated to the medication, just as the Moderator so wisely suggested.
