This time last week I was doing excellent with my low carb dieting. I had my first day where all sugars were between 5 and 7, which I am most chuffed with!
Then i went to an awards ceremony for my company. Firstly, I was given no choice in food. It was just plonked in front of me. So I ate everything but the obvious high carb bits. However it was VERY rich food. After that (because we actually won a couple of awards) we celebrated with champagne which then turned into beer.
Big mistake. About midnight I nearly passed out. Had to go back to the hotel and eventually had to hug the toilet so to speak. I was ok, but had to spend a day in bed just to recover. Sadly, since then my sugars have constantly been high. I've had to double my insulin doses just to get them down.
I feel ok now, but nearly a week on, i'm wondering if i'm still recovering. Has anyone else had any similar experiences :?:
