After having a look at a few different type1 D forums, it has become apparent that there is a new trend of people worrying over the results of the recent ACCORD STUDY.
Accord involved type 2 (likely overweight) Americans, Under intensive therapy their blood sugars were normalised using medication alone and it was noted they experienced heart problems. Is this a surprise ?
Achieving normal blood sugars (4-6%) in a normal type1 diabetic through correct insulin dosing, exercise and diet is completely different and will NOT result in heart problems.
