The bio pancreas is it possible to be achieved ?

Hi all,

I read before sometime about bio kidney which is going to enter the trial period in America after giving it the FDA approval, so I'm wondering why there's no similar thing as a " bio pancreas " for T2D or T1D also ( I'm not talking about external pump could be carried out of body and be fixed on waist) but a fully functional artificial bio pancreas in a size of small box can do the same natural pancreas cells functions, these natural cells are transplanted on silicone chips and protected from body's autoimmune attack, the same concept exactly of bio kidney project, any ideas or is it possible to pass this idea to a specialist or scientist ? the bio kidney project facebook link to have an idea : just copy & paste this /ArtificialKidney/ after facebook.com

Thanks a lot for sharing me this link, actually my idea is not only going for just beta cells capsule only, but a full artificial bio pancreas contains alpha and beta cells, this bio pancreas could be capable to secret not only insulin but glucagon (is very important also to burn body's fat in case of need exactly same as natural pancreas)
This Bio pancreas could be directed also for T2D who are suffering of shortage or insufficiency of necessary pancreatic hormones, so this is just my idea.

Hi Khaled, so far there doesn't seem to be any issue with Alpha cell loss in T1D or T2D.
