Interesting debate. Is it my anti-carb bias that made me think the low carb side of the argument was better researched, more specific and generally better presented. While the pro-carb argument seemed to consist mainly of non-diabetic generalisations?
Just pointing out to the OP that it's 'Southport GP' and not 'Stockport GP' so there's no confusion.
I see a familiar trick in the anti woman's list: "Healthy carbohydrate foods such as wholegrains, pulses, fruit, vegetables, milk and yoghurt". They always manage to slip vegetables in, don't they?
To me, saying that LCHF excludes vegetables is as misleading as saying that HCLF encourages you to stuff yourself with cakes and sweeties.
Though saying it encourages people to stuff themselves with bread might not be that far of the mark.
