Lord,

Hear my prayer.

I know I came to this world with an affliction that has no cure. I live with this, I get angry and frustrated. I grate at the ignorance and indifference of those who are not afflicted, and rant at you for putting me in this position.

Yet, in my ignorance and anger, I begin to realise that which made you see this course. You created me for a reason, to do something outside the norm. To make others realise that life is not just freedom and ease. There are those things that challenge life - those elements that make us accept that life is not permanent.

Some are not ready to see this. They would believe that without acknowledgement, there is no death. They do not need to fight for the privilege of life - they are in denial.

Is this why I am here? As an example of one who truly appreciates life?

I accept my role, I do not seek glory, nor do I expect sympathy. Simply respect for what I portray and that which I live with. I give freely to those who love me, I give support to those who are in need, and I make myself available when and where I am needed.

From my adversity I am made great. I am forever joyous.
