SUMMARY
On Monday, March 13, 2006, eight healthy young men took part in a clinical trial of an experimental drug known as TGN1412. The drug was intended to treat leukaemia and had already been successfully tested on monkeys but never on humans. However, it went terribly wrong, leaving six of the volunteers fighting for their lives. This drama-documentary tells the story of one of the most infamous medical emergencies in recent British history."
 
Sounds depressing as hell..lol

I guess if your suffering from leukaemia then hell why not try some untested drugs.

The problem is, that I don't think they were suffering from Leukaemia - they were healthy young men who had volunteered to test the drug, in return for a few hundred quid.

I'm not sure I would ever be desperate enough to participate in a drug trial, for money, but who knows? :eek:

Hi all drug trials yes I can remember years ago my local hos were carrying out trials for a new insulin never new the name as they knew I was a diabetic they wrote and ask if I would like to participate no payment just traveling expenses reimbursed I contacted the department who were doing the trials and said I would take part I thought hopefully help other diabetics a few days before I was to attend got phone call to say they thought trial may be to Risky and we're calling it off makes you think doesn't it?
 
I'd be up for some drug trials..:D
