Simply a thread where you can confess anything you have eaten that you really shouldn't have done...

I'll start with been for a curry at the local Indian, which wouldnt have been too bad, but we had rice, garlic naan bread, popadums, and despite now feeling sick as a dog, I REALLY REALLY enjoyed it   Of course the rest of the weekend now means im gonna be extra strict though to correct my little slip up...

I confess that tonight I ate an ice cream out of the freezer. Ice cream is just about my only weakness these days. I fully expected a bad result but got readings much better than I expected:

5.4 - Before eating
5.8 - one hour after finishing eating
5.7 - 90 minutes after finishing eating

The results makes the pleasure of eating the ice cream even more enjoyable! :D

Great idea  We just had a home made turkey Korma with brown rice and some salad. Just done my BG after 2 hours and it is 5.6, which is lower than my fasting one this morning
I had a bar of Galaxy last Saturday and bought another small bar of Galaxy when I went to put the lottery on earlier on this afternoon, I thought it was Saturday, my treat day. Well I only started restricting my diet 7 days ago when I went on my new meds.
Galaxy is still in my coat pocket :) but I am tempted

John, they are good results.

.....a family bag of Minstrels, 4 weeks ago.

Two seconds after dropping off, the reflux that had disappeared since giving up the carbs came back with a vengeance. Stomach acid hitting your lungs is not a pleasant experience, I can tell you!

Don't do it cocacola! Give the Galaxy to the dog!

Best wishes - John
 chocolate is poisonous to dogs, I'd rather eat it myself

Can you explain that to my labs?? our youngest thinks cos she is a chocolate lab she can eat it, once she nicked a whole chocolate cake, and then lay round the rest of the day with the smelliest farts i have ever experienced!  Though our older lab has a fetish for spray cream out of the canister!

My friends dog had to have emergency treatment after scoffing the chocolates from the Christmas tree :(
Then there was the time he jumped up and took some grapes that were draining in the sink. Grapes and raisins are also poisonous to dogs, so again he ended up at emergency vets. Damaged either his kidneys or liver :(

Galaxy is still in coat pocket

you have certainly got v.good willpower then, any other chocolate i can resist but not galaxy....the mrs has even promised me a galaxy easter egg if i get to my next weight loss level...

I had a banana instead, I know they are full of sugar, but at least it is natural

I ate Freddie Starr's hamster.

It's ok though........I did sprinkle cinammon all over it first.

Mmmnn Galaxy!!! Last one was about 16 years ago when someone brought some back from a trip to the UK for me. So lucky it is not available here!
Love my cocker spaniel too much to ever give her chocolate. At 8 years she is a healthy, normal weight spaniel, runs like the wind and would jump off a cliff in a heartbeat chasing birds like the springer spaniel we saw in the UK news recently!
Honey Baked Ham Crisps 100 grams a week or so ago. Hit 11.0 one hour later  I really really get it now. Never again!
Under-ripe mangoes and paw paw are now my guilty pleasures and they don't wreck my figures either!

What are you doing starting this topic off bufferz !!!!

OK, its confession time, on the occasional Saturday night I'll have a nice chinese curry with rice and prawn crackers. I look at it this way, we only come this way the once and food, like fine wine and women (or men according to your preference) is one of life's few indulgencies. :D

Doesn't effect control to bad, as I cover with a little more insulin and split the dose to suit.

Can someone tell what is the big deal with cinnamon?

You would have to ask Ardbeg, he is the cinnamon expert on the forum.

Hi Chris,
Some diabetics say that improves their control and others say that it makes no difference. It tastes nice though :D The jury has been out since 2003.

Read through this article and the comments and see what you think,

http://www.diabeteshealth.com/read/2008 ... edication/

I not sure about it tasting nice though, I tried it on my cereal last year and it made me feel nausea. I suppose its like anything else, you either love it or hate it, a bit like marmite!
