The guilty pleasure thread

I go for apple sponge pud made with cinnamon apples and Almond sponge topping. Best served with loads of creme freche. Yummmmmm. I just tell myself the cinnamon and almonds counteract the naughy stuff  . Do use half sugar half splendor too. Only one problem, my other half keeps nicking it

Well the bar of Galaxy went Saturday night  My BG went up from predinner 5.4 to 8.8 two hours later, but it is only a weekly treat

Crikey Chris! 8.8 isn't too bad after a bar of galaxy, must have been a small bar?

It was one of the lads birthdays today so they brought in....Costco Danishes! I told them how much I detest working with them, but had one anyway (I hope to god my weight is down to under 19stone on Monday now!) I'll just be extra good tomorrow, and sunday...just having roasted veg and chicken tikka fillets

Bad boy day for me today, went to tescos for some chicken fillets and some more peanuts, ended up with a 200g bar of galaxy with biscuit in it  , it tasted soooo nice! Ah well, roll on my next weak moment, im glad i lasted a few weeks this time!

I had a croissant for breakfast on Sunday. It was delicious, crispy crumbly crust and buttery soft inside. I passed on the strawberry jam. This was at a B&B in deepest Suffolk.
the scrambled egges were pretty good too.
I'm not much of a chocolate lover. the pre-Christmas 75% cocoa one is still unopened in the fridge.

My indulgence is a sherry trifle, I make it myself with sugarless jelly, lowfat custard with sweeteners and fresh fruit I use homemade cake made with sweeteners and soak it in a bit of Harveys Bristol Cream LOVELY! a little bit don't hurt now and again. I am getting to be a dab hand at cooking my own puds because to be frank no where really sells them.

When we were on holiday last week I was so hungry when we went for lunch in the Edwardian kitchen restaurant, Pollock House that I ate a chunk of wholemeal seedy bread with a bowl of sweet potato and roasted yellow pepper soup. It was wonderful but my BG level was still at 11.9 after 2 hours so I won’t be doing that again!

Well its Saturday night time approaching, so its feast time! :)

I'm off to the local butcher to get some of his beautiful Cumberland sausage, might have a few home made chips, tomatoes and mushrooms with it, and some of my wife's home-made coleslaw...............................can't wait!

Never mind, tomorrow's another day, back to the healthy low-fat diet until next Saturday.

seems the best way to do it!

have been rough the past couple of days,(just a cold, i think), while the wife has a bacterial chest infection tho (on antibiotics for it) , so the LC has kinda gone out the window the past 2 days, as we have been poorly together, but vowed to be back on the wagon from today, as i have my bloods on thursday, and i have got this far so dont want to ruin it now, but yesterday was sausage and chips from the chippy (small portion though), followed by a piece of chocolate swiss roll...I would check my BGs but i seem to have broken my accucheck compact

Saturday night YAY!!! We had Singapore fried rice  and salt and pepper ribs and a splash of curry  Followed by half a dozen squares of Galaxy 8)
Just checked my BG levels 21/2 hours later and I got 4.5  rechecked and it was 5.2, that's lower than I get all day  I'm not checking again cos I like the results

As it was Easter I had 2 Hot Cross Buns toasted with butter. They were the white flour ones from the in-store Tesco bakery. I tried the wholemeal ones but it was like eating cardboard. My BS hit 15. :(
