So I’ve been pretty quiet of late. Finally got my results from the hospital, GAD antibody was strong positive @2000 units/ml and islet cell antibody was negative - not sure what this means but paperwork says definite Type 1.

My honeymoon period of taking 0 fast acting came to a sudden halt.. im now on a 1:10 ratio fiasp and 20 units nighttime lantus and still running high.
Pretty scary injecting 15 units for a McDonald’s!

Start my dafne/life course tomorrow.

Have finally come to terms that I am actually T1.. only taken 10 months :D
Now to start working out how to get back to running and manage this properly with bigger doses.

Thank you for all the advice and support here!

Well I was going to say "Welcome to the club" not sure thats what you want to hear but things should work out :)

@h4kr . Nice to see you back. Fully fledged T1:):).
It’s all trial and error and nothing will ever be set in stone.
DAFNE will be a godsend for you. You should learn so much, not only from the course but also the other attendees.
Let us know how it goes.

Accepting the diagnosis is much easier now the honeymooning is over... feel like I can actually move on and move forward.
It sucks, but bit of a relief to be honest..

Hope you gain control of it quickly.

To anyone else reading this in the honeymoon phase stick with insulin from day 1 - protect any remaining insulin cells you may still have.
