Had my check up today 3 months after starting on reduced carb ( 50g or thereabouts)
HBa1C - down from 67 (8.3%) to 41 (5.9%)
Liver function - perfect
HDl - up from 0.8 to 1.4
Trigs - down
LDL - unchanged - needs to come down a bit
Kidney Function - unchanged in normal range

Consultant very suppourtive and told me Ive proved all the theories about the possibility of re-sensitizing the body to insulin / carbs

One very happy Badcat!!!!

Excellent results ! badcat !

Have 1 poppyseed cracker ( 3g carb ) with lashings of beef dripping !

Superchip...

Congratulations, badcat.

With everything else going in the right direction, I suspect your LDL is changing from small dense particles (more harmful) to large, fluffy particles (a good thing.) The movement in trigs is a good guide to this.

That wine is a must if you're celebrating !

So

Great reduction badcat

The best bit was how supportive my consultant was - after reading some people's experiences with medics when they've gone low carb I was a little anxious but she was really helpful and interested - mind you she's always been a doc who works collaboratively so I guess I shouldn't have been so suprised
