The Most Recommended Foods To Lose The Extra Weight

this is except for people who have impaired metabolism and cannot digest carbohydrates and starches, resistant or not

for me - I have lost 50 kilo by limiting carbs to no more than 20 grams a day and making sure the rest is half protein and half fats [if you do not eat fibre you need to eat fats so you move your bowels properly]

those who can eat carbs and starches - by all means please do so

if i eat any carbohydrates that are starchy I feel famished despite having a full tummy - I can eat 30 bowls of oats in one sitting and i still feel famished and famished for the next 3 days - non-stop

if I eat 2 eggs for breakfast I can leave it at just 2 eggs and i do not feel famished - not even when next mealtime comes round and I can decide how much to eat and I feel fine

many diabetics have this response to eating carbs and starches - one crumb or grain or bean or potato chip and you just gorge on the food despite being full and still feel hungry starving.

I suggest if you want to follow advice from experts please do so with your blood glucose meter and a diary in hand and record your reaction to the food before deciding if that advice is right for your body and your diabetes.

I will listen to experts if they lost 50 kilo in a year and dropped their blood glucose from 12.5 to 4.6 with no medications

otherwise i prefer to listen to my body and eat high fat and high protein and severely restrict carbs.

I'm no expert but I lost 56lb in under a year whilst on insulin  and got my bg levels down from 12.6% to the 5%'s where they have stayed for the last 4 years and I eat carbs with every meal so there really isn't any reason to go as low as you suggest for most people, I have actually lost over 5 stone now over the 4 years I have been diabetic and managed to keep that weight off. In fact by eating such a low level of carbs a day you are probably making yourself more sensitive to carbs which in IMHO is counter productive.

So always remember there are many ways to control diabetes not just very low carbing :D

The best food for weight loss IMHO is less food

thanks Sid

we all need to do what we find works for us

what works for you obviously is very good for you - congrats and gimme tips please

but I know I cannot take the carbs at all and have been fighting a carb problem most of my life

as well as being diagnosed as diabetic, the carbs I was having were causing me really severe allergic reactions, i could not breathe and felt like I would die because I could not gulp enough air

so in my case I NEED to be THAT low in carbs

other people may not need to be that low in carbs

it is always a good idea to use a blood glucose meter and keep a diary and then go with what works for you
