The New Carbing Support thread - all welcome!

Not having a very good day today. The Metformin reactions are getting worse, so I have decided not to take any more today and go back to the doc tomorrow.

Asda was a total trial as well. The bakery smell was almost overpowering  but I managed not to buy anything

AND I've only managed 20mins on the trainer today because the cramps are so bad

because you are having a rough time but also because you walked away from the bakery. Good luck at the Dr's tomorrow.

Slow release acquired :D

Well done. I persevered with the regular Metformin. My appetite was zilch for a while, but I am fine now. It's a difficult drug to take initially, but the protection it offers is worth it once it settles down.

thanks! I just couldn't function on the standard ones :(

I don't blame you one bit for getting the SR, the regular ones are hard on the tummy and appetite. Glad you are all sorted now.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem to affect my appetite

I struggled for quite a while to be able to eat anything. I did have some good days, but my calories were around the 400-500 mark most days. It was hard. Now I am on the ND My calories are around 520-530 depending on how much water I drink (I add a little splosh of squash). I will get my calories up, but not until after the diet

On a certain well known internet auction site, you can buy flavoured Stevia drops. Mine arrived yesterday - Grape flavour - and I add five drops to each glass of water. I drank loads yesterday, it's that lovely artificial grape flavour like the grape slushies you used to get years ago.

They do lots of different flavours, it's about £13 a bottle but there are 300 servings in a bottle so should last ages. Sugar and carb free.

I've just had a REAL wobble for a digestive biscuit

I've managed to resist by having a hot cocoa made with coconut milk and a splash of double cream. It's REALLY yummy :)

OMG......liquid Bounty? Gone wobbly at the knees just thinking about it. How nummy is that? That has got to be my bedtime drink tonight!

(Think I can get away with going to bed right now?)

Thanks for that Jules, off to have a look, blackcurrant and apple is getting a bit boring now and I'm not keen on orange squash.

[edit to add] Jules are these the ones you bought? These are lemon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wisdom-Natural- ... =8-2-fkmr0

Yes, but much cheaper on ebay. There's a lot of shipping on that Amazon one.

I'm going to send for French Vanilla and Dark Chocolate flavour for baking and ice creams if they're any good. There are two makes Better Stevia and Wisdom Natural Sweet Leaf. Lots of flavours; berry, lemon, toffee, chocolate, mint, vanilla.......and others.

I'm not really keen on squash. I had lemon and it was giving me indigestion even as dilute as I made it.
