Hi Matty, the ultra smart has all the bells and whistles you will ever need. It is almost like a mini computer with all the input you can add via your pc.
Give lifescan a ring in the morning and ask them all the details etc and you might find they will send you a new one in the post :)
thanks sarah i will give it a try you never know they "might"send me one for free.

People (nurses and doctors mainly) who tell me its easy to control diabetes... i struggle!!
I've got one of these... quite like gadgets... but havent ever used it as more than a normal blood sugar metre but its good! Its got to be worth a try in ringing them!!

I miss my ultrasmart meter.... The electronic log book is really good as you can but so much imfo such as carbs, execiser medication inculding tablets, illness hols ect... even you BP healthchecks...

The software is also pretty good as well, you can download it for free off there intenet site, you can manually enter you reading or buy a cable to do this which they give a link to a pharmacy site... It cost approx £11 with postage include and arrive next day...

If you need to buy it and can't beg one out of Lifescan... check around the chemist (the site you get the cable from is reasobaley priced) as when I brought my at the chemist attached to my doctor surgery it was pricey indeed I think that had it priced at around £40-60 mark but a mile down the road (same chemist company) it was priced at just £20! so it worth shopping around if you have to..

Hi
I got one from Boots the chemist for £22 a few weeks ago, i love it for its simplicity and speed. You ring lifescan and they send you software on CD (or you can download) and a free cable to connect to your computer by return of post! :p
I put my blood pressure results on and print off graphs etc. (I will put my HbA1c results on when the hospital finds my 2 blood samples it lost.) It graphs your blood sugars too.

I have one,it's OK, nice & compact but quite basic, has a fashionable range of colours though.

I think you're confusing the Ultrasmart with eh UltraMini...

The ultra smart is a very good meter!! I use it everyday to log my blood glucose readings, my insulin injections and my carbs eaten...

You can also use it to log your exercise and health visits...

I'd recommend it!

Beetroot, Cucumber, Radish, Prawns - and arrogant people that have no understanding of how ill you can really be without looking ill

Drugstore has OneTouch Ultra 2 Blood Glucose Monitoring System for $70 - $70 rebate (Form in box) = Free, free shipping. You can get back what you paid (up to $70), its not necessary to use a coupon toward this item.

But will they ship to the UK jessica ?
I also used the Ultra Smart - awesome little piece of kit.I downloaded all the software, bought the cable and kept a log of everything. I now no longer self test (Dr's guidelines) so its become pretty redundant for me at the moment. Been advised to keep hold of it in case they change my medication
