Chris - if it helps my cat has a lovely big water dish but she still sits next to the kitchen sink (or IN it...) to try and drink from the tap.
Sometimes she just sits there batting at the water drops... I'm wondering if she's trying to tell us she wants a bath...

Ha ha BF....My auntie used to have a cat that who did that!! She also had another who would sit on her shoulder and when she was preparing srpouts would nick them out of her hand  They both had siamese in them, dont know if there is a link :)

I think aswell that the one who used to wait for the dripps of water used to do the same in the bath but one day jumped in when it was full   One very wet and not so happy cat

Funnily enough, I swear there's some Siamese in Bianca. The shape (and size) of her ears and her face all look slightly Siamese.
That and the fact that she is into EVERYTHING, she plays fetch (when it suits her) and she wanders around chatting away happily  One of the ladies on the hospital ward I was on saw her picture and asked if she was a Calico/Siamese cross.

Ahahaha!!
I'm waiting for Bianca to do that...She's already tried getting in the shower while it's running, it's just a matter of time before she jumps into the kitchen sink while it's full...
It's a good job she's pretty, she clearly missed the line for brains bless her

Yes they both sit in the sink in the bathroom and try to catch the drips, then leave dirty paw prints all over the bathroom floor. They are certainly great entertainment
