Most people believe in innocent till proved guilty. In some cases - this is one of them - a person goes into court a guilty person and has to has to argue their innocence. He shot his girlfriend, which he admitted, and tried to "prove" his innocence by saying he thought there was a burglar in his home. Imo the French are correct in assuming everyone is guilty till proven innocent.

That's a difficult one... a particular example would be a rape accusation which later proved to be false. I think I feel more comfortable with 'innocent until proven guilty' unless there is clear and incontrovertible proof to the contrary.

In the past I have seen reconstructions on a tv programmes, with the layouts of the accused home, what led up to tat fateful Valentines day. What I can't understand, is how he didn't not realise or know that Reeva was not in the bed next to him, when he thought he heard 'an intruder' . My first concern, would be of my loved ones, whether it be a partner my or god forbid, children, defending and protection is first. He is disabled, in a vulnerable position with no legs as a way of mobility. My account of what happened, like everyone else's is based on the prosecution and defence lawyers account of what happened, because we were not there.
I believe Reeva sneaked off to the bathroom to make a text call, apparantely Pistorius and Reeva, at times, not getting on prior to that and Pistorius had a controlling, aggressive and abusive nature. I am sure he knew what she was doing behind that door and he did what he did. Murder is an extremely serious crime and the crime must be proved guilty beyond doubt.
Just to add that I agree that 'this circus' has been going on far too long and the horrendous suffering that Reeva's family (and the Pistorius family too) have been going through is heartbreaking. A young and talented young women has lost her life, let Reeva and her family now have some peace and dignity.
The suggestion now appears to be emerging (supported in the media yesterday by a series of previously unreleased - and horrific - post-mortem photographs) that Reeva was brutally beaten before she was shot. An allegation has also arisen that she appears to have a wound on her arm from an airgun, in addition to the wounds from the different weapon that killed her.
Pistorius' neighbours have claimed since the beginning that they heard a loud and violent argument continuing in his apartment for around an hour before they heard the gunshots. Everyone involved in this case must have been aware of the existence of these photographs from the start, so there seems to be more than a whiff of corruption attached to the fact that they - and the circumstances they reveal - have not been released until now. Pistorius' defence that he was unaware that Reeva was not asleep in bed would have looked very shaky indeed if these pictures had been released in the beginning.

On Friday 9 pm, ITV, 24th June. Oscar Pistorius : The interview.

I will be watching, with interest.

I had no idea Reeva was beaten, shot or injured with an air gun, also I have not seen any of the photo's you mentioned. I heard of neighbours hearing a heated row, with raised voices. Oscar Pistorius talks about what happened that night, in an interview on Friday night.

France, as any civilised country, presume innocence until proven guilty.
Simple explanation of their legal system here
