Morning all - thought this might be useful for those considering a trial of Libre 2. I’ve struggled with my weight for many years and have been mindful of my relatives propensity to drop dead with no notice .. mostly with tablet managed T2. Dad had gout as well. I had a health check and came out with an HbA1c of 49 - hardly surprising given family history and a BMI of 42 … I’ve had support, tried many, many diets that I just haven’t paid enough attention to as I really struggle with a ‘why’ when faced with treats! I find it really difficult to think beyond my nose and worry about the future.

Bring in Libre 2 … talk about an instant result!

First image is two days ago - I had a meal replacement bar (40g carbs), then some hours later a home made wholewheat scone. In the evening I had a packet of chocolate cookies and some other bits

Second image is yesterday - a small piece of rye bread with scrambled eggs for lunch, a Nakd bar as a snack and then dinner of lentil bolognese with more than half the plate as broccoli and Brussels sprouts.

I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to make a difference so quickly, but the readings are going to be powerful stuff with my weight management.

Hi I’ve just started my trial of the Libre 2, it’s fascinating to get real time bio feedback on consumption of foods, and effect of activities too.

The other thing I’m finding really helpful is the MyNetDiary food app, to keep a record of food consumption. I only have the free version but I’m finding it really useful in working out carbs content of food’s & easy to use. I set a weight target on diagnosis, the app worked out the numbers, & off I went. So far, so good - keeping my food within the range most of the time has meant a steady loss, just as predicted. Awesome stuff.
