May I know what is the daily right amount of carb intake for people who has type 2 diabetes.
For perfect carb eating I prefer nothing more than 10g of carb per 100g item of food. It keeps me right whatever my diet. Always.May I know what is the daily right amount of carb intake for people who has type 2 diabetes.
Do you have a meter?Appreciate a lot your replies.
I notice allot of people say reduce carbs gradually- im boarder line t2 and drastically changed my diet from carb loaded (take ways, pastries, bread, pasta every meal) to today I just worked out was about 46g carbs (mostly in vege) and only few g of sugar for the day. I am losing weight not trying to maintain I guess should mention but I'm unsure why it's said to reduce gradually - like what are the expected negitive effects of doing so? I've been going nearly month every day similar carbs (some maybe a bit more but prob never 130g) and not noticed any thing negitive. If you are contemplating lowering the amount of carbohydrates you eat then 130g per day or less is said to be low carb. From there you can lower the carbs per day you take to suit yourself. By cutting out sugar, rice, potatoes, pasta and bread (or anything made with white flour) you can make a huge difference to the amountof carbs in your diet but do this gradually.

Thanks for replying to my other post to guzzler
How do you test for that? Amount of spike per meal? The number of carbs I can eat is less than or equal to the number of carbs my body can deal with. We are all different. As other have said, get a meter if you don't have one and TEST, TEST, TEST. It doesn't tell lies!
Thank youYou simply test before meals and two hours after meals and it gives you an indication of how that meal affected your BS. A rise of less than 2mmol at the two hour mark is considered good but everyone is different and you have to find what levels you are happy with.
