Dogs teas an hour , well TWO hours , later than usual by the clock. Changed my bedroom one before I went to sleep and phone and laptop automatically change .. been watching recorded stuff on tv. Had forgotten to put dishwasher on and thought, ah, the 40 minutes prog will be ok, take me to 20past 4....Didn't get up soon as it was finished...cos, hey, they're often fed around 5 at weekends....****** it's almost 6 as I spotted the time when I picked my phone up.
Phew, next door must be having curry for tea....strong....

It doesn't help being constantly woken up thanks to Katie!Body not adjusted to hour change yet
One of the dogs? No, broken sleep isn't good .... Can empathize...a good night for me is if I've only woken twiceIt doesn't help being constantly woken up thanks to Katie!
No, it was the storm. I like living in Southsea, only a mile from the beach. When there is a storm then it tends to be not so nice,One of the dogs? No, broken sleep isn't good .... Can empathize...a good night for me is if I've only woken twice
Ah, of course. I realised as I replied that I didn't think you had a dogNo, it was the storm. I like living in Southsea, only a mile from the beach. When there is a storm then it tends to be not so nice,

Hope power is fully on soon. Does your energy company know about the problem? My first post on the Scream thread but I have to have a whingefest!
I'm still feeling awful with the dregs of a chest infection (finished 7 day course of antibiotics this morning).
Our drains blocked on Saturday so my already structurally-challenged husband rodded them and has been almost completely immobile since. Still, the drains are clear!
To add insult to injury we have had, thanks to the weather, almost no power since the early hours of this morning - the router works, and the clock on the digital radio and microwave, and the telephone, but not the fridge, the freezer, the cooker, the lights or anything useful! Oh, apart from the kettle - which is taking 35 minutes to boil.
I know this sounds daft, but having this wee trickle of 'almost' power is feeling at least as frustrating as having none at all! Still, I'm grateful for (slow) access to hot water for coffee, and for 't internet for keeping me sane while I'm feeling so rubbish.
Rant over - thanks for listening!
Thanks so much @Sable_Jan - hope you're restored to full power ASAP!I feel rather like your electricity at the mo...
A few years ago we had a powercut in Feb for 17 hours! I tried to make sure my next door neighbour was ok. He was in late seventies and lived alone. I offered to get him fish n chips, hot drinks (I have a gas hob) hot water bottle etc. He turned it all down. When the electricity came back on at 3 am I didn't know that his boiler didn't automatically heat up. The next day he fell down and cut his head. He died the next day of hyperthermia.'Screaming' really worked - the power was back up and running at full whack within 15 minutes of my last post! Unbelievable and FANTASTIC!
Follow-up scream though - the boiler is now kaputt. Husband is fuming. Checked trip - no, all fine; replaced fuse - still no go; turned isolator off and on again - nada. All result of power issue - thanks, Storm Katie!
not quite, just started yawning my head off......but glad your power is restored
Check the bag before you leave the chemists next time? (not that I ever rememberI am fed up of cats in my garden making a mess. Why don't they foul their own home. There should be control as there is with dogs. Also why doesn't my GP's receptionist know the difference between BG testing strips and Ketone testing strips. The surgery takes my script over the road to the chemist How many more times do I have to go back to the chemist once I have got home and opened the bag to find yet again Ketone strips. I did have the option of ordering my repeats on line..registered..used it once then it packed up!
oooh, dear.....Husband's just made himself a cup of tea for himself and did not bother making me one, because he is continuing a minor disagreement from Friday - how long can he continue this - can't wait for him to return to work tomorrow.
