I do not belong to Facebook, have never consented to any of my content on Facebook. Is there a way to opt out of forwarding any of my content from this private website?

I remember thatI know eddie on the original thread about members concerns over FB posting our quotes, (but he was not the OP) asked why an advertisement promoting the forum could not be used instead............. I think we are still waiting for that response, what do others think about this idea, it's a winner from me , thumbs up

I doubt they would give out that information especially during a court caseThe anonymous call to Social Services to see who is the caseworker? You can say you have an important piece of documentation for her/him. Then, when she/he calls, you can document you are the loving grandmama!

Although posts may be appearing of Facebook the DCUK forums are still open to be read by ANYONE.....you only have to sign up to be able to reply.......I do not belong to Facebook, have never consented to any of my content on Facebook. Very valid points, Kat, particularly with regard to the under-18s or those desperately seeking some urgent help.My questions are for the @Administrator ..
Goodness I can wait .. Now I know they are on holiday .. Well I didn't know before lol ...
I remember when I joined here I didn't read terms and conditions , I was to desperate for assistance and information ..
I to have FB and other virtual interests , but I make my own choices , with my own controls on them...
It's the seeing your chat avatar etc , appear on your FB feed , it's a shock , it's not moderated either ..so anyone can say anything
I have seen photos recently from dcuk of young children and their stories , I guessed , rightly or wrongly that permission was given ... Not just random choices .. Of the children .. Using insulin pumps I recall ..from memory .
Anyway that's my scream , terms and conditions can change , be amended etc , all good management do that , with reviews working in partnership ..
So for the few who don't want to be on FB .. Please @Administrator listen to the requests
Discussion always welcome ..no more screaming today .. It's bank holiday weekend and casualty .. Kat
Excellent idea. From what I've seen of the DCUK Facebook page, I'd be surprised if it attracts many new members anyway - there seems to be a great deal of bickering and backstabbing, and there's frequently a pretty negative vibe to the page.I know eddie on the original thread about members concerns over FB posting our quotes, (but he was not the OP) asked why an advertisement promoting the forum could not be used instead............. I imagine it's probably covered by this clause:This seems to pertain to anyhone who posted content from this site onto another site since downloading any content is only for one time personal use, not for spreading to others and links, even, can only be made to the home page. Only use is here by a member:
7. Acceptable Use
7.1 You may only use our Website for lawful purposes. You may NOT use our Website: in any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation; in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect; for the purpose of harming and/or harassing or attempting to harm and/or harass anyone in any way; to send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or re-use any material which does not comply with our content standards set out at clause 9 below; to transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam); or to knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, logic bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
7.2 You also agree not to: reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of our Website in contravention of these Terms; access without authority, interfere with, damage or disrupt any part of our Website, any equipment or network on which our Website is stored, any software used in the provision of our Website or any equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party.

There are other clauses that pertain, but basically, no one had the right to relocate content from here elsewhere
Note that if you wanted to make someone aware of a research article, for example, there is usually an originating Url for the same that could be used in addition to its secondary use here.
Content intended to be shared, for example, webinars by Dr. Bernstein, usually state you can share them if you post them in entire giving originating Url and so on or that you must ask permission before sharing.
There are a lot of hold harmless clauses in the usage rules
If I didn't see something you think I ought have seen on my reading of the link you provided above, could you point it out to me? For example, I didn't see where the website has the right to repost my info or statements?
Thanks, AndBreathe - this is certainly one lesson I am taking away from this issue. But it's also going to limit what I'm prepared to post on the forum in the future. (I won't be posting any more recipes, for instance!)@debrasue , I imagine the incidence of non-diabetic and non-diabetes related viewers of the site are likely increased due to and increased interest in reduced carb eating, eating full fat, the 8 week sugar diet, 5:2 and intermittent fasting activity. There have been popular and well populated threads on all of these topics.
Personally, I have never or would never us a photograph of myself or anything that could be reliably identified as uniquely me or a possession of mine as an avatar. Perhaps I am more cautious than most, but it's how I am.
Unfortunately, Cumbs, as things stand at present it appears that, by signing up to join DCUK, we have consented to any material we post being available to be used, copied, distributed or disclosed to any third parties Admin sees fit, for any purpose. Some folk saying on here that posts on here they make are turning up on Facebook
Whoever runs this site kindly do not put any of my posts I make on here onto Facebook
Thanks

Some of us are not at all happy with this as it relates to Facebook in particular, and are asking @Administrator to review the T&Cs to see whether compromises can be made to take members' wishes into account.
